Gregory Alan Williams, 55, of Waynesboro, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Greg was born on April 1, 1958, in Waynesboro, son of Paul F. Williams and Verlie Marion Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, George Dana and Paul "Bennie" Benson Williams.
Greg is survived by his wife, Sherrel Hickok Williams; his son's mother, Diana Young; and son, Sage Williams, whom he is so proud of. He is also survived by his brother, Clement Kevin Williams and his wife, Tina D. Williams; nieces, Danielle Marie Williams of Richmond, Kelsey Renee Williams of Waynesboro, Charlotte and Christine Williams of Wyoming; and numerous cousins.
He graduated from Waynesboro High School, lettering in baseball. After graduation, he moved to Paris, France where he became fluent with the French language. Greg traveled Europe, working in restaurants and becoming a self-taught chef.
Back in the states, he lived in New York City where he worked at 5 star restaurants serving the stars. Greg lived in Los Angeles, Denver, and Washington DC. He owned and operated the Pearl Restaurant on Main Street. He also loved acting, with his last role as Roy Truly in "Killing Kennedy.”
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at McDow Funeral Home. Interment will be private at a later date.
